Mind = Blown

Holy crap. I have stopped running for what. 1 month already?

I just started with the 3-4 km run again.

I thought I didn't beat my record.

I... Was... Wrong.

Previous record: 17.25

Current timing: 17.09

17 April 2010

a good kendo training a week keeps the doctor away

I've never been feeling fitter. Just ran approx 3-4km today and its in the incredible time of 18 mins. Okay, timing wise, not too good, but i was hardly breathless and maintained a steady pace :D

01 April 2010

training yesterday

Wasn't a good run, body's still aching from PT the day before

approx. 4-5km 20 mins D=

28 March 2010

Back exercising

Some will training after a long break.

I'm pretty off-form

I pushed myself so hard, my granddad would be proud.

Time: 17.45
Dist: approx 3-4km

I love my ariakes

For all those who don't know, K swiss has created a model of shoes specifically made for parkour.

The K-Swiss Ariake.

Official Statements(notable)
The K-Swiss Ariake is the most supportive Free-Running shoe for moving over, under and through the streets.

• Traction is achieved with a combination high-grip rubber in the forefoot and durable Aosta® rubber outsole in the heel.
• Stability is maximized by an external heel counter and variable width lacing.
• Cushioning is achieved with a dual Density CMEVA midsole compound.
• Durability is enhanced with an extra-padded, seamless forefoot and rubber toe bumper.

My Opinion

Let me first explain why I'm qualified to judge. I currently own a pair of these:

Mine's slightly different in color.

These are the BEST running shoes ever. When you run in them, you can actually feel the wind woosh-ing around your feet. The weight of the shoes is so negligible, its like running barefooted, except with proper soles.

So how does this make me a good shoe-critic? My feet have been spoiled by Adidas' Climacool.

Now. Let's compare the Climacool with these:

Again, mine are in different colors. Will post pictures soon enough

In terms of cooling, Ariake looses hands down. After my Climacool, these made my feet feel as though Suresh Sensei made me do that Korean ashi-sabaki exercise. They were so hot, it was like a furnace. However, unlike the Climacool, my heel did not feel the impact of the road at all. Now, I have a more-than-sensitive heel especially when I have kendo training which just started recently. There are times when I accidentally fumi kumi(feet stomp to you non-kendoka out there) heel first. This hurts a hell lot.

The Weight is equivalent to my Climacool, maybe even lighter, as my strides were faster and stronger. This could also be caused by improved traction on the awesome soles on the Ariake. Let me just put it one way about the traction. As a beginner traceur, I do not have the ability to do a single tic-tac (wall run). With them Ariake, I can easily jump onto a wall, and propel my way upwards. With some practice, I may even clear 3 steps off a wall.

Need running shoes or new to parkour? This is one fine shoe to consider.

09 March 2010

will training again

good will training today, 17:25 in the 3-4km run today

08 March 2010

back, after malaysia trip (no exercise)

So now once again I'm back, and I went for a late night run, to work over the guilt of missing the first training in a while. Figured I need extra will power, so today was will power training.

17:50 best timing for my 3-4 km run. Wasn't easy mind you
